Colorado
CCW Classes
On
May 18th 2003, Colorado became a "shall issue" State for
CCW concealed carry permits. As long as you are not disqualified,
the County of your residence Sheriff's department shall issue a
permit to you.
The
training requirement to obtain a Colorado concealed weapon permit
CCW is very minimal. Most basic pistol or handgun safety classes
fulfill the requirement. Does this really qualify you for the responsibility
of having a firearm on your person and the ability to use it effectively?
We think not.
Our
Colorado CCW class is a comprehensive full day class that is approved
by several States for CCW training. In addition to this class, we
strongly recommend an advanced NRA class or the Combat Focus
Shooting class if you plan on carrying a firearm.
A
Colorado CCW permit is honored in 27 other states. This course is
also approved for the Utah non-resident CCW permit which is honored
by a few additional states that do not honor a Colorado CCW permit.
Most students choose to get both. Colorado residents must have a
Colorado CCW permit to carry a concealed firearm in Colorado.
- Cost:
$200
- Course
length: 8 Hours
- Prerequisites:
Basic Pistol or equivalent. Competent basic gun handling skills
must be demonstrated.
Along
with the right to carry a firearm comes a tremendous responsibility.
Make sure you choose the right training! Spend at least as much
on firearms training as you do on the firearm, and take courses
as often as you can!
